Honk if you love Justice.

I went to see The Dark Knight yesterday. It kicked my ass! It also kicked all the asses in Travelling Pants at the cineplex next door.

There's a million reviews online already, so I'll spare you mine. I liked everything about the movie, except for two disturbing things:

1. The Mayor of Gotham wears waaaaay too much eyeliner.
It's so hilarious that they cast the actor who played Batmanuel as the Mayor. For those of you who are not familiar with the comedy powerhouse once known as The Tick, Batmanuel was the live-action TV version of Die Fledermaus . He was a Latino parody of Batman - a suave superhero with an overinflated ego who's actually a big coward. He takes his phone off the hook or leaves town whenever he sees the bat signal. If you've never seen the Tick (either the cartoon, or the short-lived live action TV series), do yourself a favour and rent it. It's brilliant.

2. Maggie Gyllenhaal.
I really can't stand this woman, but I have to admit, I'm happy for her. Really! I mean, she's a terrible, fugly actress, and yet somehow she's convinced all of Hollywood that she's a hot, sexy, amazing thespian. Nice work, Maggie! Please go back to doing crappy indie movies so I won't accidentally run into you on a 40-foot screen ever again.

Here's the "sexiest" photo I could find of her.

I think it's an ad for Nair.

Definitely not a classic beauty, but every now and again she seems to have something about her.

Although I'll admit, I've never had good taste in women...or men...or goldfish.

Aw, I thought Maggie was great in Sherrybaby. And Secretary.

I am amazed how much women hate Maggie Guygl;ssdahall. Remember, we're a generation who grew up on Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald, and movies featuring Anne Ramsey - we didn't set the bar too high.

I like Maggie, too, but that picture is kinda creepy.

I'm just baffled at all the Maggie hate around miss Kat. I think she's quite pretty. Not in a classic way but she has her own attractiveness thing going on. I mean she's not stunning or anything but far from fugly I think. She's sort of normal looking.

I, too, am stunned by the number of people professing their Maggie hate (not just Kat.) I like her and think she's pretty in a nontraditional way. That's probably why I like her - she isn't some flashy Hollywood bimbo. Even if you're a hater you have to respect those cheekbones.

Okay listen up, Maggie Lovers: you are entitled to your opinions, and I'm entitled to mine. I will never understand your love for Ms. Gyllenhaal, and I shall leave it at that.

One thing's for certain: she will never be mentioned again on this blog.

I don't think I've ever seen a movie she was in, and the photo you posted doesn't show her boobs, so at that point I had no opinion. So naturally I Goolged Maggie & Boobs and saw way more than I anticipated. Here's the caption on the photo I found:

"Maggie Gyllenhaal has no qualms about popping out her boob to feed her kid. Here she is in the middle of the West Village outside of Bonsignour Café Wednesday morning with 8-month-old Ramona having breakfast."

Her kid has the nip between his teeth/gums and is pulling...

I've decided to remain opinionless, but my most basic judgment is, yeah, I'd do her.

Agree completly. I still don't understand why that dude wore so much eyeliner. (so much = any)

She should totally consider a Brazillian wax.

There's nothing wrong with her looks, she's not a hottie and she's not ugly, but she bears far too much resemblance to her brother, and that's scary.

Also, she looks perpetually miserable.

Ha! I wasn't sure about the eye liner thing either.

As for Maggie? Her nose is weird.

Two-Face was much more gruesome than I thought he'd be. I looked over at the boys to make sure they weren't shitting themselves when they saw him. They survived.

I'm not a Maggie fan either but I thought her acting was decent in Dark Knight. Unlike Mrs. Cruise in Batman Begins...

I liked her in Secretary... geez what an actor, that scene with the worm was pretty intense.
I haven't seen the new batman yet, can't get to the movie because the line is FULL of 16 year olds hoping to see Maggie's boobs.

Much like Ernest Borgnine was handsome in the nontraditional way. Wait, I've never seen the two of them together in any photos.
