That New Yorker thing

It seems that some Americans have got their panties in a bunch (again), thanks to the cover illustration on the July 21/08 issue of The New Yorker. Apparently, lots of people find the drawing very offensive.

I, too, am deeply offended, and very upset.

I can't believe that this piece of shit made the cover of a major mainstream media publication. This looks like something that seventh graders secretly pass around to each other in history class.

I mean, it's not like the New Yorker doesn't have any fucking money. They could have hired a professional artist or something.

I'm not sure about the New Yorker having money. They don't seem to have enough for them to afford to buy any of my articles. Bastards.

You're right. I could've drawn that with my ass.

I'm not kidding. My ass is very talented.

My fellow Americans have the collective intelligence of a puddle of dead tadpoles. I'm not sure if people are genuinely offended or if it's politically convenient at the moment to take offense at everything. I suspect it's the latter.

We've lost a lot of our national skills over the years, but feigning offense is something we're still really good at.

At any rate...thanks for posting on this, so I don't have to.

I thought it was Barack stepping out with Diana Ross. It's a cartoon people! If there was a photo of the Obamas in this situation, that would be a little offensive. His name IS Barack Hussein Obama...hmmmm.

I STILL don't get it! Why wasn't there a caption?

How about if Obama wins the election and then during Halloween, 2009 he and Michelle show up at a party in these costumes. How cool would that be.

Comment Deleted: thanks for stopping by! I don't know why you deleted your comment. It was a good one.

Imaginary Reviewer: What kind of articles are you selling? I have people who know people who buy articles. They truly are the luckiest people.

Beckeye: I LOVE you. And your talented ass.

James: Don't be so hard on your fellow Americans. They Squeeze- Cheez and Disneyland! It's not all bad.

Bluzlover: Me too! First I said "Is that Diana Ross?", then my friend said, "I think it's Scary Spice."

Bert: That would be cool indeed! You always find the interesting twist that makes a lemon into lemonade.

Ginger B: hahahahaha! Well, it's a look that only YOU can rock on the runway. Or a beach in Cozumel.

I couldn't agree more. What's next, a series of watercolors featuring a sun wearing sunglasses?
