Last night, I enjoyed a special culinary tour of Fuzion, one of Toronto's fine dining/lounges on the Church Street strip. As the guest of one of the house chefs, I had the rare privelege of experiencing a 10-course tasting menu (a series of small portions) of their newest winter dishes within the stunning decor of the old Robert Simpson House.
It was a wonderful evening and I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in Toronto (Church & Dundonald) and looking for a lovely spot to enjoy some deliciously creative food.
If you're a vegetarian (shame on you), you might want to look the other way, because these are all the animals I ate:
The wilderness is a quieter place this morning.

No human on that menu? Actually, I would have said you were a veggie. Glad you're not. And I love boar.
Color me J-E-A-L-ous! How was the cheval? Just curious.
Damn, I'm so jealous! I love eating the woodland folk!
I had a girls' night tasting-menu evening at Bistro Savannah here in Sav-town and it was literally the best food I've ever eaten. Also unfortunately the most expensive!
I love Bison, I get it for my burgers. More expensive but worth it!
I've eaten that rabbit before, too. Call me, Bruce!
Dr Zibbs: That was my first boar experience and it was delicious.
Gwen: The cheval is a bit chewy - no fault of the chef - it was perfectly cooked, but horses have very little fat and lots of muscle so it's not the tenderest of meats. It's similar to venison in taste - very rich, but not as gamey.
SouthernBelle: It was painful enough to pick up the $100 bar tab - I think I would've had to sell a kidney to pay for all the stuff we had.
SkyDad: I'm a fan of tatonka burgers, too.
Pistols: I know you like 'em harey.
*groan*
sadly you're missing the best meat of all... elk! its so good for you and tastes even better!
Man, that sounds ace. Must check that place out.
I had horse sashimi in Japan. Twas not bad at all.
I'm no vegetarian but I don't think I could ever bring myself to eat bear meat.
You are so lucky. Did you get to witness any of their deaths? I remember watching a movie years and years ago where they put live monkeys into a table and stuck their heads thru the table. The 'diners' would thunk em on the head until their demise, then eat their brains. Or maybe I dreamed that, I don't know. I should pry up the dosage. Anyway, lucky you.
So, it cost more than the Dollar Menu at McDonalds?
